vascular reduction

What is vascular laser treatment?

Vascular laser treatment is a non-invasive procedure that uses targeted light energy to reduce the appearance of visible blood vessels in the skin. At SkinBar, we use a long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser designed to safely treat vascular concerns such as cherry angiomas, spider veins, and facial telangiectasias.

What can vascular laser treatments help with?

Vascular laser treatment is commonly used to reduce or remove:

  • Cherry angiomas (small red blood spots on the skin)

  • Facial telangiectasias (tiny visible blood vessels, often on cheeks and nose)

  • Spider veins on the face or body

  • Broken capillaries

  • Red vascular lesions

  • General redness caused by superficial vessels

Is vascular laser treatment painful?

Most clients describe the sensation as a quick snapping or warming feeling on the skin. The Nd:YAG laser includes cooling technology to help improve comfort during treatment.

When will I see results?

Some vessels may disappear immediately after treatment, while others gradually fade over 2–6 weeks as the body naturally absorbs the treated vessel.

How does the long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser work?

The long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser delivers controlled energy that is absorbed by hemoglobin (the pigment in blood). This heat causes the targeted vessel to collapse and be gradually reabsorbed by the body, resulting in a clearer, more even skin appearance without damaging surrounding tissue.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments depends on the size, depth, and number of vascular lesions:

  • Cherry angiomas: often 1–2 treatments

  • Facial capillaries/telangiectasias: 1–3+ treatments

  • Spider veins: 2–5+ treatments depending on severity

Some vessels may clear after one session, while deeper or more extensive vessels require a series.
